Best of the 2012 Golden Globes

Watched the Golden Globes with my mom on Sunday night. There were lots of well-buttressed high Hollywood glam styles, I was most attracted to softer colours or more avant garde looks. Number one in my books was Tilda Swinton’s pale blue Haider Ackermann ensemble. To make the red-carpet-ready, she wore a retro-era 1940s sapphire, diamond and 18 carat gold coil cuff bracelet and a bunch of Edwardian diamond and platinum brooches, all from Fred Leighton.

Speaking of pale colours, I also loved the colour of Charlize Theron’s rose petal pink gown from Dior (though only from the waist up) and Deco-era headband from Cartier. Michelle Williams also sported a lovely vintage headband from Fred Leighton. And I usually like whatever Clare Danes wears — this time it was a black and white dress from J. Mendel with bracelets by Bulgari.
